Whether you are new* to IIT or just haven’t been to the library lately, there’s always something new to learn about Galvin. Here are the best ways to get acquainted with Galvin Library.

1. Watch our Welcome video that shows you what’s available at Galvin.

2. Check out what types of databases, books, and other resources we have in your subject area from our Research Guides page. These guides filter out all the “other stuff” and present you with just what you need in your subject!

3. Join our Library Announcements email list. We only send emails 1 or 2 times a month, or whenever we have major news about new databases, upcoming classes, changes in hours etc.

4. Take a look at our Quick Tips & Tutorials page to learn about how to create your library accounts, how to search for books and articles and much more.

5. Request a Research Appointment to meet with a librarian who specializes in your subject. They can show you how to more effectively search for information in your area.

Come on over and say hi! We are here to help you!

So welcome (or welcome back) to IIT and good luck with the new school year.

*New students please note that you must officially register for classes before your library privileges begin. It usually takes a day or two for the library to receive your information and enter you into our system. We appreciate your patience while we update thousands of records at the beginning of the school year.
