Are you a new student at IIT?  Maybe you missed tours or introductory sessions or had conflicts in your schedule. Well you can learn how to use the library using our New Students Guide.  The guide will introduce you to everything you need to know to get started including:

  • how to search and find books in our library
  • how to use interlibrary loan and borrow from other libraries
  • how to reserve a study room
  • where to find articles

Galvin Library offers classes throughout the year on using library resources.  Remember you can always get help, any time with any question, by contacting us through email, phone, IM or just stop by the Research Help Office, located on the upper level at the top of the main stairwell.

New Off-campus Access Method for Faculty and Staff

August 5, 2013 at 7:40 pm | Posted in databases, e-books, e-journals | Comments Off on New Off-campus Access Method for Faculty and Staff

Off-campus access to library e-resources is available to all IIT faculty and staff as well as currently-registered students. The previous method of logging in using IIT email credentials has been disabled for faculty and staff.

All IIT members will now use their campus-wide ID (CWID) to log in to the library’s remote access server. Your CWID can be found on the “Welcome” page (shown below) of the IIT portal, or on university ID cards created after 2008.

We are currently working to batch upload all currently active university faculty and staff CWIDs into our system. If you are having problems logging in from off campus, please send a message to digitalservices@iit.edu with your CWID and we will add your CWID number manually.
