comics_2013On Friday, October 25 from 2:00-4:00 pm, Galvin Library invites you to a reception to introduce the campus community to our collections that feature graphic novels, Japanese film and anime, comic books and role-playing games. Over the years Galvin Library, working with student organizations and from small donations, has slowly built collections that can be enjoyed by fans within the IIT community. We have more than 220 comic books, more than 125 anime and animation DVDs, a small but robust collection of role-playing manuals and handbooks, and in our leisure reading collection, a rotating collection of graphic novels. Better still, we will show attendees how to use I-Share and interlibrary loan to dig deep into the depths of other library catalogs to order additional DVDs, graphic novels and other items.

All students, faculty, and staff are invited to stop by for an opportunity to view our collections close up, enjoy a few snacks, and discover a wider community of gamers and graphics lovers. The reception will be held on the upper level in the northeast corner. Are you headed for a Halloween party later in the day? Costumes are welcome with this crowd!
