Currently there are a large number of faculty, students, and staff who are receiving an email like the following:

Subject: Library account

Dear user,

Due to high numbers of inactive library accounts on our server, you are urged to validate your library account within 72 hours of receiving this e-mail, by using the validation link: Click Here to confirm that your library account is active.

Failure to update will process your account being temporarily blocked or suspended from the network and may not be able to receive.

Do not ignore this message to avoid termination of your library account. Thanks for your co-operation.

Please delete these emails as they are a phishing attack by a malicious source. The library will never send out notices of this type.

 

Trial Business Database Available

We currently have a trial version of Euromonitor’s Passport database available to IIT students, faculty, and staff.

Passport is a global market research database providing statistics, analysis, reports, surveys and breaking news on industries, countries and consumers worldwide.  Passport connects market research to your company goals and annual planning, analysing market context, competitor insight and future trends impacting businesses globally.

This database will only be available until February 14th, so test it out before then!

New Art Exhibit – Reception on January 17

ForTheAsking_JillMcLeanA new exhibit, curated by the student organization SmallRoom  Curators has been installed in the Kemper Gallery on the upper level of Galvin Library. Running through February 28, Jill McLean’s “Breaking the Chains That Bind Me” features oil paintings of various sizes and compositions.

On Friday, January 17 from 4:30-6:30 pm there will be  a reception where you can meet the artist and discuss her work. The reception will take place in the Kemper Gallery. Refreshments will be provided. Stop by and check out the art and meet the artist.

 

 

Galvin Library Winter Break Hours

??????????????????????During winter break, December 8 through January 12, Galvin Library’s hours of operation will be:

Monday – Friday   7:30 am – 5:00 pm
Saturday                  8:30 am-5:00 pm
Sunday                     Closed

Galvin Library will observe university holidays and will be closed Wednesday, December 25 – Wednesday, January 1. Galvin Library will reopen on Thursday, January 2.

Remember you can use all of our electronic library materials – articles, ebooks, journals, learn a language, digital collections (Voices of the Holocaust should not be missed!) and more – while we are closed. You can also renew your IIT and I-Share items online.
